My mini keeps crashing, too. Except it has a graphic of a little ipod with "x"'s for eyes and a little toungue sticking out, something like the "Sad iPod" icon. There's an apple link that sends you to support, and the only way to get it back is to drop it. (Don't ask me why this works, but it's worked on all of my and my friends' ipods...) Best of luck!

Oy. If you haven't, consider doing the iPod Restore that I mentioned. You'll need to resync your entire library, but it may clear up any file corruption in the iPod's system. Doing that cleared up the consistent crashing on mine.

It just freezes up after it gets turned on. If I plug it back in to its usb it stays frozen. So, I take the high tech approach of letting the battery die, then I plug it in. So far, that has always worked.

The new ones are very nice....and Christmas is coming.

Really. The freeze and everything, or just the diagnostics? It can't be good! :-)
